Took 1/4 gr. of a armour today, I didn't want to take it....I feel really spaced out and kind of dizzy. Anybody else felt similar?
yes many people feel like that at first and with each increase.
You might have cortisol problems, probably low cortisol.
If you can at all 'stick it out' (ie carry on) and you should get used to it, but it can take a little while ie a week or two.
what time of the day did you take it by the way? did you take it as soon as you woke up? as that may be the best thing to do.
was this the first time you took NDT?
Thanks nobodysdriving. Yes, I took it after I woke up( unfortunately I wake up at 2-3pm because I can only fall asleep at 5-6am). I did chew it, swallowed with water then waited 50 min to eat.
Today was first time. I never had it before. The only good thing is that it didn't give me stomach problems ( not yet anyway).
I probably have weak adrenals. Taking under consideration things that I have been through and symptoms like eg. postural hypotension, my adrenals are weak. I will try to stick to it at least for a few more days if I manage.

Hopefully the T3 in the Armour will help to heal your adrenals. Is this a 1/4 grain tablet or half a 1/2 grain tablet. If it is the 1/4 grain tablet, perhaps you could try splitting it in half if you are feeling no better in a few days. Some people are very sensitive to these things, especially if they have weak adrenals; and given what you have been through I wouldn't be at all surprised if you have weak adrenals.
I really hope you do start to feel better soon. You've been through so much, you deserve a break.

Thank you Carolyn. It's 1/4 grain tablets. They are really tiny I am not sure if I can cut it precisely. And the question is shall I carry on with it.?
I wish I had a break from all of it too. I don't believe that it will come. I feel like I am self-medicating. I didn't receive proper guidance .... I don't trust...and is a horrible feeling.
Hugs for you too xx
Yes I have some 1/4 grain tablets and they are tiny and very difficult to cut. You could always try grinding it up to powder and split it this way, if you need to.
Yes I felt the same odd/spaced out feeling when I started on Armour and for most increases. It has taken me a year to increase from half a grain to 2.25 grains, but it has been worth it I have written some blogs about my experiences with Armour which you might find interesting:

Good that you haven't had a stomach issue so far with the Armour xx
Edysia, just a thought....if you dont' get to fall asleep until 5am why don't you try and take at that time? just before you go to sleep?
give it a go
I had these symptoms too and they lasted for about 6-7 days initially then 4-5 days after each increase of 1/4 grain. Like Clarebear it has taken me a year to get to 3 and half grains but the later increases were much better. Its worth persevering.
Hi Clarebear,
I am making very slow progress thanks for asking. When I last saw Dr S he said I had been allowed to become seriously ill and it would take a long time to recover. Also complicated by my calcium problems which were also mismanaged. I am glad you are feeling better and thanks for your posts they have really helped me a long the way.
