Did your GP tell you to keep your Levo well away from food and drink (except water) as this can interfer with the levo being absorbed. Also at what time of day do you take your Levo.

Have a look at link - which was a poll done on this site a while back and see when others take their meds and what their experiences were. I must warn you that it will take a bit of reading as there was an awful lot of answers.

Levo builds up in the system over weeks so, in my opinion (and it is just an opinion), splitting your dose wouldn't effect the end result but who knows maybe it would help you. As I have said have a look at the link as you may find the answers there.

splitting the Levo over the day is not something which should make any difference.

Taking it at least half hour before food or 3 hours 'after' is what will help and try taking it at night too can help some.

However I doubt that this change alone will be enough. For a start the increase was the right thing to do, how long have you been on 100 and when will you have a review (you may need another increase after this).

the headaches are common to many when starting and/or raising levo, bit early to say about those but do keep your GP informed of these symptoms so that he/she can monitor.

I had headaches when I started levo which went away after a short while.

i am now on T3 only and that also gave me headaches in the beginning but they then stopped too.

xx

ps headaches are hypo symptoms too and a dose of levo which is not high enough for you can make you 'more hypo' to begin with before it makes you better, hopefully it'll get better soon xx

If by Levo you mean Levothyroxine Having gone through the heathaches I find taking half hour full amount before bed stopped the headaches. I did however have them for months.

I got horrible headaches when i was undermedicated so i would suggest you 'sit them out' as they might improve with proper levels of medication, i'm sure they are a symptom of being hypo.

Hi You may need T3, you need testing for TSH, T4 and FT3, often TsH high because FT3 low and needs treating.often the body does not convert T4 into T3 as it should , I hope this helps.

Thank you so much for your help everyone. On holiday at the moment. The headaches are becoming less. Taking the Levothyroxine around 2/3.00 a.m. - always get up at this time during the night, so works for me at the moment. Also suits the 'not with food' too.

I have another test in 3 weeks so will keep you posted as to the results.

It's funny that it was a Locum Doctor who wanted tests, a stand in all discovered I had Hagermans, blood condition. Regular Docors just aren't interested. Gave me more painkillers, Morphine, along with more Prozac.

It's a strange disease, of which I didn't know even existed - what a pain in the neck!
