I just handed back Hillcross Levo tablets to my pharmacy as they didn't agree with me. I am sure, could be wrong, that mine were via Teva.
I normally have Wockhardt and a small dose of Teva which I have been able to tolerate but my pharmacy couldn't get hold of the Wockhardt 25mcg so was given Hillcross. Unfortunately my stomach definitely didn't like them, but that is me. They may be perfectly ok for anyone else.
I’m not going to risk it especially as label pharmacist put on box says only dispense MP
I must admit I wasn't happy when I was given a different brand, I have never had a problem before but since being on them my already sometimes dodgy stomach became worse and my Thyroid TSH dropped quite a bit within 3 weeks which seemed odd. Not saying it was tablet but seemed a bit of a coincidence it all happened when the tablet brand was changed.
If you can get your usual meds from another pharmacist all well and good. As I said others on here might be ok with it, everyone different.
25 microgram Hillcross is Teva.
50 and 100 microgram Hillcross is Accord.
It is confusing and should not be allowed.
My UK medicines document has some details about how prescriptions need to be written. Appendix F.
helvella's medicines documents (UK and Rest of the World) can be found here:
helvella - Thyroid Hormone Medicines
helvella has created, and tries to maintain, documents containing details of all thyroid hormone medicines in the UK and, in less detail, many others around the world. There is now a specific world desiccated thyroid document.
I highly recommend viewing on a computer screen, or a decent sized tablet, rather than a phone. Even I find it less than satisfactory trying to view them on my phone.
helvella - Thyroid Hormone Medicines - UK
The UK document contains up-to-date versions of the Summary Matrixes for levothyroxine tablets, oral solutions and also liothyronine available in the UK. Includes injectables and descriptions of tablet markings which allow identification. Latest updates include all declared ingredients for all UK products and links to Patient Information Leaflets, etc. PLUS how to write prescriptions in Appendix F.
