Hello 👋 lovely members ,

Just wondering anyone out there on Mirtazapine who have Hashimotos - how have you found it ? Has it had an adverse effect on thyroid ? Any positive stories too 🙏

Like many on here working towards healing ❤️‍🩹 I’m also on Armour but not optimal yet - having bloods done next week .

Has Mirtazapine helped you with depressive side of things ?

With thanks 🙏

Kelly

I have been on it for a few years, I take to help with sleep problems. Not had any issues. But can’t comment regarding depressive issues.

Yes it gives you the munchies! I’d say that doesn’t go away sadly! We have enough on with dealing with the thyroid! All the best to you x

hello,

I have been on it for about two month - mainly because of anxiety and sleep issues.

I took half a pill (7.5mg) before sleep.

When I had all my thyroid levels right, I felt like I don’t need it any more.

But even with this small dose I had some issues coming off of it…I had to do it slowly. But I guess it was all in my head…😵‍💫

Bless you , I’m on 15mg , I have complex trauma from bereavements etc . I think that’s what triggered my Hashi’s - stress 🙈

It’s a minefield isn’t it - side effects are most definitely real coming off them - I agree slow and steady x

Thank you 🙏 so much for your response ❤️‍🩹

Hi, I was on it very briefly to help with sleep but I had adverse reaction to it. My dreams were wild too but they made me feel terrible, I had to take a quarter of a 15 mg tablet in the end because I felt so bad but they actually made me feel depressed which can sometimes happen. My gp warned me that they can make you hungry and therefore put on weight . I decided to come off them, I have enough stress trying to sort my thyroxine out but I hope you do well on them .
