Hi all, I am having a problem with 'brand's of levothyroxine prescribed by GP which comes in a weekly blister pack. Each week, I have no idea if I am getting consistent brand because there is no info on blister pack as to what the brand is. My levo dose could be 50 or 75 depending thyroid test results. Furthermore, when I have to increase my dose by 25 I usually get given two separate brands. Have confronted pharmacist many times only to be told by her that it's okay to take different brands.I'm increasing levo today by 25 mcg (on 50mcg) had enough messing around with pharmacist so decided to source levo myself.
Does anyone know Where I can source a trusted brand of levothyroxine that comes in 50/25mcg doses.

Are you sure about that? I was under the impression that all UK levothyroxines have the brand name on the foil backing.
Levo also usually comes in boxes of 28 tabs (2 x 14 tab strips). There should be a name on the box too, along with manufacturer details. And a PIL (patient information leaflet) inside the box which also has brand, manufacturer etc on it.
You could show this to your pharmacist as evidence that it is an accepted and reasonable practice to expect the same brand of Levo at each prescription although I do understand that one needs the willingness to continue fighting!
Your GP can also name a brand on your prescription and it should be written as per the image in the first line.
