Advice on test results

Hi group. I’ve been on 75mcg since June 23 and I’ve just had some results back which I have posted. My levels seemed to have changed in the last 6 months and wonder if I need another increase? I have Hashimotos so does this mean my thyroid condition will continue to worsen or will it eventually level out?

Hello, yes you could do with an increase, chances are unless you are quite slight you haven't got up to a full replacement dose yet.... general guidance is 1.6mcg per kilo, would suggest you increase to 100mcg or alternate 75 - 100 at the very least 🤗

Free T4 (fT4) 17.8 pmol/L (12 - 22) 58.0%

Free T3 (fT3) 3.8 pmol/L (3.1 - 6.8) 18.9%

T4:T3 Ratio 4.684

How are your other vits and mins results looking? Ideally top third of range to get the best conversion

Hi, thanks for your reply. I weigh 53kg so does this mean I’m already at full dose? My other vitamins are ok but still on the low end of the range. I am trying to increase them with supplements.

How were you feeling in August?

As a rough guide you'd need around 82mcg per day and with your current results a small increase is needed but your conversion hasn't improved, still need to increase vit D and B12... how are your iron levels?

Hi. I felt ok in August. To be honest, it’s hard to remember how I have felt at different points so I just start keeping some type of diary. My main symptoms are hair and skin related and my shedding has increased again so I had a feeling my levels might have changed. Also tired a lot of the time but put this down to working and having young children. How can I improve my conversion? My ferritin is at 109 now, I had a full iron panel in October and it all looks ok. I think I will contact my GP and ask for a small increase. Hopefully they will agree.

That all looks pretty good, hopefully a small increase will make all the difference. If not after 8 weeks test if your fT3 is still low then it is time to ask for a referral to see an Endo and get some T3 prescribed...

If this is the case it is worth looking at the Endo List that Thyroid UK can provide so that you can do a little research into which one you might prefer to see as you are allowed to specify 🤗

Hopefully hair loss will slow down with the increase in levo and Vit D aim for 100-150

When my hair was falling out I increased protein as well as all the other vits and mins as I really wasn't getting enough
