I am a 72 yo female. Panhypopituitary due to removal of tumor on pituitary gland when I was 63 yo. My health has been steadily going down hill since then. At least once a month my face swells up, as it is at the moment. I feel lathergic and down right miserable, just don't want to talk with anyone. I still have physio for vistibular migraine the vomiting was awful. Acid reflux not as severe but still take meds. Osteoarthritis has now taken over my body, fingers, both knees, right rip and plantar faciitis in both heels and most recent MRI shows all levels of my spine is affected. Sometimes pain is unbearable. I won't even mention the meds I am taking. Is anyone experiencing what I have been experiencing ?

Are you still on that rediculously low dose of levo? Pretty certain you're under-medicated and/or have a conversion problem? When was your last thyroid testing done? What did they test? Have you ever had a full thyroid panel done?
TSH
FT4
FT3
vit D
vit B12
folate
ferritin
Have you continued supplementing your B12?
What are you taking for acid reflux?
I checked results of blood tests carried out this year by Endocrine Dept : TSH 0.14 - FT 4 19.3. No readings shown for FT 3, Vit D, Vit 12, folate, ferritin or B12. Esomeprazole 40mg daily prescribed for acid reflux. I stopped taking gaviston because of un comfortable sensation in my head. Supplements I take are magnesium amd B2 . GP told me my B12 was high. My blood pressure meds have been changed to Nortriptiline and Candesartan to accommodate vistibular headaches.
Sorry, we need a range for that FT4, although it does look like it might be high. But, without an FT3 reading, We can't really tell if you're under-medicated. Could be that you're a poor converter.
Esomeprazole is a PPI, which lowers stomach acid. However, hypos usually have low stomach acid rather than high. So a PPI just makes things worse. Have you ever had your stomach acid level tested?
Why do you take magnesium and B2?
GP told me my B12 was high
Don't just take your doctors word for it, get a print-out of your results.
Are you taking blood pressure meds because you have high blood pressure? Or for the vistibular headache?
So are you still taking levo? How much?
Good day greygoose. Thank you for your time. I had written a lengthy report of my health and all meds but something went wrong and I've lost it all.I've never got any test result for FT3.
TSH 0.14 (normal range 0.27-4.20)
FT4 19.3 (normal range 12.0-22.)
Levothyroxine is 75mcg per day
Candesartan and Nortriptyline
are both for my blood pressure and my vistibular migraine.
Do you know that high blood pressure can be a hypo symptom? You really need to know what your FT3 is. It could be that you're a poor converter and your FT3 is low, causing symptoms.
Your B12 is quite high, are you taking supplements? But your folate could be higher.
What supplement would you suggest? I do not eat meat going on 45 years. Thank you.
For the folate? If you're a vegetarian you should be getting plenty of folate. But, if you want to supplement take a B complex with methylfolate.
BUT if you haven't eaten meat for 45 years there is a problem with your B12 because you only find B12 in animal products. Your doctor needs to investigate why you're is so high, because that is not normal. Does he know you don't eat meat?
I've made appt to see GP on Friday re severe shooting pain down right hand and right foot. I will request FT3 blood test.

You need an FT4 and FT3 done at the same time to see how well you convert.
And don't forget to mention the B12. Although you didn't say if you supplement B12 or not.
No. I do not take supplement for B12. Will keep you posted. Thank you for your time.
You're welcome.
But, did no-one ever tell you that if you don't eat meat, you should take B vitamin supplements? The symptoms of low B12 are very much like thyroid symptoms.
I know yours is high, but that is an indication an indication of something wrong, possibly in the liver. And, I've heard that symptoms of high B12 can be the same as low B12. Your doctor really needs to look into it.
I used to take B12 and B complex many years ago. I may have done myself an injustice as my health declined and I take more meds. I found that all those tabs made me vomit so I stopped taking less of supplements. When virtigo was diagnosed I was told to take magnesium and B2 because I was taking too many meds!
