interesting…. Does that mean we need a biscuit before bed? I can’t wait to find out my blood sugar levels. When will your Zoe kit arrive? Are you looking forward to scientific muffin eating? 🌱

Biscuit tin bedside me thinks 😋

I've got a SS test tomorrow... wondering if is should take T3 before or after?

Felt lousy the last couple of days having helped the kids move house has utterly floored me 🥱

Not heard about a start date so will be eating as many biscuits as I can before it arrives, assuming they will be on the cull list 😕

argh the dreaded malaise. Yes I hear you, My quiet little bubble has been popped in the last few weeks too. Am going to try 10pm bedtime again. No idea about SS and T3….. logic suggests take as normal to me to see what it does for you, but then you have no baseline without…. Hmmm 🤔 rest well and hopefully you’ll perk up 🌱

What an excellent article, written in a way which doesn’t require any prior understanding or in-depth scientific knowledge! *So* much of it resonates.

This may be a dumb question, but, is it worth getting sex hormone levels tested? Speaking as a post-menopausal, currently HRT-free woman? I’m wondering about high oestrogen levels, having looked back at historical blood tests…..🤷🏻‍♀️

this rings true for me, I was misdiagnosed perimenpausal at 45 and started HRT initially feeling better and then gradually worse, and by 48 was exhausted and then diagnosed hypothyroid and HRT stopped. t4 started. Symptoms of fatigue return in my cycle. Could be that it contributes 🤷🏽‍♀️

Glad you found it as informative as I did, sometimes things just resonate don't they...

I would certainly recommend getting your sex hormones tested as they are part of the puzzle and the good thing is post meno they should be settled... mine certainly dropped too low, along with everything else and HRT is a huge boost

Thanks @eeyore100 and Regenallotment for your prompt and helpful responses, I’ll add ‘sex hormone testing’ to the seemingly endless things to do in the quest to feel well x

this is really interesting 🤔. I long thought I have adrenal fatigue due to 23 yrs of PTSD and constantly being hyper vigilant ( fight or flight mode). Only ever had blood cortisol test early morning and it was a little over range. I do have an Adrenal Cocktail once a day. Wish i could afford the SS test 🙁

I managed to get the test organised by my NHS endo I don't know if GP's can request it? If you have a high am blood cortisol then probably this rather crude test wouldn't be appropriate and the 4 x saliva cortisol and DHEA would be more useful to you?

My saliva test showed cortisol at it's peak am (though only 293) but then dropped off for the rest of the day
