I’m wondering if anybody has ever used or knows , of a natural supplement, that helps in keeping the Blood Pressure in a normal and balanced position.
my Heart beat is often quicker in the night, and in taking my Blood Pressure in the day time it is raised more than I would like.
I do have low adrenals ( in the mornings), and thyroid results are low ish, so I’m wondering if that’s the cause of the faster heart rate. Just puzzled as to what it could be?
But I think I heard on this forum, some time ago now, that there was a natural supplement, that acts as a balancing agent
Any help would be greatly appreciated ? Thanks.

I take Hawthorn Extract this has been used for over one hundred years. In fact in Germany even the GP's prescribe it. It works well I have been on it now for about 3/4 months. I take one with breakfast and another one at teatime. Also tinned grapefruit is good and cheap you must buy the one that is in grapefruit juice and not apple juice.
I have been taking Hawthorn extract in a liquid dropper form which I get from Baldwin &Co. A homeopathic friend of mine recommended it to me, and I found it works, but she kept telling me to reduce it to almost nothing every now and again, which my instinct told me wasn’t helpful !….
So I would love to know how you take the Hawthorn Extract. I can see you take it in tablet form, but could you please give me the details ? It might be more helpful for me ?
And is it easy to get the tinned grapefruit in grapefruit juice? What time of day do you have it? It’s not too acidic for you, is it, and how much do you eat? everyday ?
I think my low adrenals and low thyroid doesn’t help very much, but I’m getting there, slow but surely, but not easily, considering 2 very prominent and expensive functional doctors, made my adrenals go backwards , and has made my journey longer !!!!
I would do some research on grapefruit and levothyroxine, there is conflicting information about whether or not it affects absorption of Levo and hormone levels.
thank you Greygoose, I’m so pleased you let me know. but I had been thinking that was probably the case. I know my thyroid has gone down a bit . My last results at the end of September were
So definitely down a bit, but I’m raising my adrenals at present as they are low. So can’t raise the adrenals and the thyroid at the same time ? …….Thank you.
thanks Greygoose, yes I know, which is why I’m doing my best to get my adrenals up first. My thyroid levels were good in the Spring. I’ve even increased eating Kale, which I’m not keen on, but I read that Kale and beetroot are excellent foods for adrenals.
Well, you often read things like that, without any proof. And, I always think that if you don't like something, it's probably for a good reason. I wouldn't eat kale even for the sake of my adrenals! I'm sure there are other foods that are just as good.
sorry Humanbean I wasn’t vey clear there.- About 10 years ago, I used to have low blood pressure, in fact low everything.
At the time I saw a nutritionist who gave me a herbal supplement which apparently raised low blood pressure, whilst it could also lower high blood pressure. ! But I can’t remember what it was. And the herb was known as a balancing agent for blood pressure?
My comments about this kind of claim (of a supplement that can do different - and opposite - things for different people) probably apply to lowering or raising blood pressure, or lowering or raising cortisol.
I can tell you something I took that raised my blood pressure (which I didn't want to happen!) and that was licorice.
Since you can't remember the name of this supplement you took I'm guessing it didn't work? Or it worked too well?
I read that beetroot helped, and tried it. I hate beetroot. I did not find it worked but it may for you. Beetroot juice is widely available. Be prepared for a change in colour in the loo!
