If you haven't already done so, you could contact Thyroid UK for their list of support groups. thyroiduk.org/help-and-supp...

Hello Peapop :

I don't know if you will find a local support group but there are many forum members here who are able to help with both Graves and thyroid health issues both of which can seriously effect your physical, mental, emotional, psychological and spiritual well being.

There is a Graves HU forum but we all tend to come on this forum run by the charity Thyroid UK where you can find much more information about all things thyroid. thyroiduk.org

I'm with Graves but post RAI thyroid ablation and now managing lingering Graves, thyroid eye disease - caused by the RAI amongst other things - and primary hypothyroidism.

Where are you in your Graves journey ?

There is another dedicated website for Graves Disease run by Elaine Moore who also has Graves - as finding no help with her continued ill health after RAI thyroid ablation started researching this poorly understood and badly treated auto immune disease for herself.

Elaine is now a world renowned authority on all things Graves - with several published books and though Stateside - has answered my personal emails and has an active forum, much like this forum, where just Graves patients find help and reassurance - elaine-moore.com

There are other forum members on various stages on their Graves journey and should you wish to share more information about your situation you will receive help and advice.

I live close to these areas. I don’t know of any local support group. I found being on this fabulous forum helped me no end. Can I ask which hospital are you under in this area.

Halton. But I don’t live in that area.

I think I’ll be asking to be referred to Halton rather than St Helens then. I don’t rate St Helens. I like Whiston though.

my experience of Halton wasn’t good initially. However, now it’s very good.

We used to meet up in Liverpool then moved to Zoom in 2020 but it faded away due to il health, lack of time, etc. If you'd like to volunteer to resurrect it, I'm sure there would be a number of people who would be interested in joining.

I’m from Liverpool but live in Widnes now and I have a 2 year old little girl so forming a support group isn’t an option for me right now unfortunately. I was willing to travel to Crosby/Liverpool area once or twice a month which is quite far for me if there was a group to attend, but I guess I’ll look closer to home now.
