Hi

I have hashimoto for 5 years

Treated with 800 mcg levo in week

My test result is ok ( tsh-1 ft4-16 ft3-5.5)

When I trying to get in shape(start going to gym)

After a month i start to feel tiredness and weakness

I thought maybe because i go to a gym so my body doesn’t have enough power because i demanding more from him

Its possible because I start go to gym i need to increase my levo ?

This is a common thing that exercise change the thyroid function?

Yes increasing exercise likely to use up Ft3 quicker

Approx how much do you weigh in kilo

What’s the range on Ft4 and Ft3 results above

Do you always test thyroid levels early morning, ideally before 9am and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test

When were vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 levels tested

The ft3 anf ft4 in high mid range

My folate low in range

B12 mid in range

I start from now to take b complex vit

I hope its enough

Please add actual results and ranges

You need vitamin D and ferritin levels tested

Low folate and low B12

supplementing a good quality daily vitamin B complex, one with folate in (not folic acid)

This can help keep all B vitamins in balance and will help improve B12 levels too

Many Hashimoto’s patients have MTHFR gene variation and can have trouble processing folic acid.

B vitamins best taken after breakfast

Thorne Basic B or Jarrow B Right are recommended options that contains folate, but both are large capsules. (You can tip powder out if can’t swallow capsule)

IMPORTANT......If you are taking vitamin B complex, or any supplements containing biotin, remember to stop these 7 days before ALL BLOOD TESTS , as biotin can falsely affect test results

In week before blood test, when you stop vitamin B complex, you might want to consider taking a separate methyl folate supplement and separate B12

With serum B12 result below 500, (Or active B12 below 70) recommended to be taking a B12 supplement as well as a B Complex (to balance all the B vitamins) initially for first 2-4 months.

once your serum B12 is over 500 (or Active B12 level has reached 70), stop the B12 and just carry on with the B Complex.

As you have Hashimoto’s are you on strictly gluten free diet?

If not, get coeliac blood test done BEFORE considering trial cutting gluten out

I don’t have coeliac but i am in gluten free diet for 4 years

So, if you need to be gluten free you may have poor conversion of Ft4 to Ft3, especially if vitamins aren’t at GOOD levels

Extremely common to have very low vitamin D with Hashimoto’s

Low ferritin common too, though some people have high ferritin due to inflammation. Always best to do full iron panel test, you can have high ferritin and low iron

First step is to get all four vitamins tested

Any that are low improved to good levels

Then retest thyroid levels
