Hi Suzi_ I reduced my dose slightly when I experienced palpitations & tremor (& I had a slightly over range FT4 reading). I reduced initially by 12.5mcg alternate days (using a pill cutter to split tablets), then 12.5mcg daily & then retested after 8 weeks on a reduced dose. My adverse symptoms disappeared but my readings are now a little low (for me) so I’m slowly re introducing. Unfortunately it’s all a bit trial and error sometimes. Do you have recent blood tests to share? It would be helpful to know your FT3 and FR4 levels (with ranges in brackets).
Although you are not overmedicated as FT3/ FT4 are within range, you may need to cut back your dosage slightly until tremor/ palpitations have passed. After the adverse symptoms have stopped, you may then need to try reintroducing again if other ‘hypo’ symptoms appear. We all have different ‘sweet spots’ with dosage and these can alter over time.
I’m very sensitive to change and ended up in A and E with palpitations because I’d increased my dose by 25mcg which my body couldn’t tolerate at the time. That’s why I now both increase/ decrease more slowly in multiples of 12.5mcg, starting with alternate days. I’m definitely more of a tortoise than a hare when making changes to my medication!
