My endo has requested me to do the DIO2 gene test. Can anyone let me know the best place to get the test? Also roughly what is the cost and are there ever any discounts on it? TIA

It's Regenerus who do the DIO2 test and details will be on their page.

I can't remember the cost and no extra discount is available, just the price given when ordering but please use ThyroidUK as your "practioner", there may be a code you need to use, all details will be on that page.

NHS. He said they were going to do it as an NHS test but covid had set it back.

Seemed a bit bad form, to say the least, for NHS to tell you to go off and source and pay for your own test. But, of course, covid is disrupting everything even with the best will all round.

It’s a saliva test. Requires quite a lot of spit. Allow 20mins minimum to do test

Takes about 2 weeks to get results

I've just submitted my sample this week. It cost £88, but I'm not sure if I will need to pay extra to receive the required genetic counselling when I get the results. The website is not the clearest...
