Second thyroidectomy.....

Morning all,

So a year ago I wrote a post asking whether or not your thyroid could grow back...after my biopsy....it appeared that mine did the left hand side had completely grown back...

I had my operation almost 4 weeks ago....this has been my third operation on my neck..as I had thyroid gollossal cyst removed too previously...as well as a total thyroidectomy in 1996.

However this time I barely have any voice...its never happened before...4 weeks only and I still don't have my voice back fully

...im also very breathless when I go out walking or if I go up and down the stairs...its driving me mad.. I have a follow up this week but just wondered if anyone else had the same problems.....

Suggest you come back with new post when you get FULL thyroid and vitamin testing 6-8 weeks after your operation

How much levothyroxine are you currently taking

What vitamin supplements are you currently taking

GP could test ferritin, folate, B12 and vitamin D now

Low ferritin can cause breathlessness

Thank you....it has come back that my left vocal cord has been damaged...they are not sure if its permanent..said it could take up to 6 months to heal....until then I am awaiting speech therapy....

I think JaneyJaney had some issues with vocal chords
