UneractiveThyroid in normal range now, on 75mg a day but am rapidly gaining weight, spoke to GP and he said he cannot understand this.

"Normal range" is not a very useful indication.
I assume that your TSH is in the local laboratory's reference range - typically something like 0.4 to 4.5?
a) That is a huge range;
b) TSH is not a good test for adequacy of levothyroxine dose;
c) As a starter, you need to get the actual test result and not just the claim that it is in nomral range. You are entitled to your blood test results which I encourgae you to do - including the reference range(s).
The dosing of thyroid hormones is usually in micrograms (mcg) - not milligrams (mg).

If you can post your latest test results, including reference ranges (they vary from lab to lab) we can hopefully help with some meaningful information.
For a full picture we really need to see

FT4
FT3
Thyroid antibodies
Vit D
B12
Folate
Ferritin
