Has anyone used acupuncture with any success for Hashimoto's?

Yes - my Physio did a course of Acupuncture FOC - for that very reason. They reduced considerably - due to reducing the inflammation it would seem ....
Thanks Marz, what reduced exactly?
Oh - sorry - I thought as you mentioned Hashimotos - your concerns were to do with anti-bodies. So in my case - yes it was a reduction in anti-bodies
Does the inflammation cause high antibodies? Or do high antibodies cause inflammation? Some say one, others say the other. I'm still trying to work out if there's really any advantage to trying to reduce antibodies.
My cortisol was raised - which can indicate inflammation. Not difficult to understand in my case as I have Crohns ! My Physio/Acupuncturist wanted to see if his idea of treating the inflammation with the needles - would reduce the anti-bodies - and it did. As to which caused which of course remains a mystery. Crohns was diagnosed in 1973 and Hashimotos in 2005 - but of course that could mean anything. I was interested in reducing anti-bodies when I read - Why Isn't my Brain Working - by Dr Datis Kharrazian.
Also both hubby and I have Hashimotos - and both our Mums died of NHL - Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. I had done a bit of googling and thought there could be a connection ... so yes I am sure the jury is out as to whether reducing anti-bodies can be an advantage. Mine went down by over a third - but then they were very high.
Did you end up trying it? I was considering this for myself, my antibodies are pretty high and they've been high for about two years.
