Hyperthyroid resolved without treatment

I developed hyperthyroidism two years ago. My symptoms were severe but I didn’t take any medication b/c I didn’t have health insurance. The condition, however, completely went away on its own after 6 - 6.5 months. Yep, Sudden complete remission with no meds! Then I started working a very stressful job and after 10 months on the job, the hyperthyroidism came back. I have been taking only beta blockers for 3 months now. I am afraid of taking anti thyroid meds that will mess with my thyroid and prevent any natural remission. I know it came back b/c of the antibodies that were still in my blood

I am wondering: Will the hyperthyroid go away on its own again without meds? Has anyone experienced sudden remission w/o meds and if so remission w/o meds twice?

Which antibodies did you have tested? Grave's antibodies - TRAB or TSI? or Hashi's antibodies - TPO and Tg?

Positive for TPO but I have severe hyperthyroidism (Graves), not hypo (Hashi).

So, you've never had your Grave's antibodies tested?

Do you know that Hashi's can have hyper-like swings when the immune system attacks the thyroid, and the dying cells dump their hormone into the blood, causing FT4/3 to rise sharply, and TSH to drop? Hashi's isn't hypo all the time. :)

I know what you’re talking about but no. I’ve never been hypo.
