Hi, i was with the lovely Dr skinner for many years, now im with a private doctor in Bristol but im having to change to another private doc in sussex. Had Thyroid problems for years, im now taking 175mg Levothyroxine and 2 grain Erfa/Armour. Can't tell you the amount of arguments i have had with nhs doctors regarding Thyroid treatment. My own GP washed his hands of me + thyroid , so i just see him as nhs GP.. Im in Warwickshire, and I will travel to get well and treated, I applied to the Clinic in Birmingham only to be told they dont prescribe Erfa. ..... I would love to self medicate get rid of all this hassle, any ideas, are always welcome. Keep going don't give up... Ange x

I have never used a private doctor to prescribe or treat my thyroid.After 18 years on NHS thyroxine,I went on T3 for 2 years,now been on NDT for 1 year.I self-medicate.So far I have not had to do thyroid bloods privately,as my GP practice allowed me to monitor myself using NHS blood tests including FT3.

Just moved to Sussex,so this could all change.

I did consult Dr P at the beginning,but he cannot prescribe.

I was prescribed LDN privately by telephone,but this is £25 per quarter & is automatically renewed.
