Morning all,

Two issues today

First Iv just purchased some chia seeds then after reading the back packet it states consult Dr if taking other medication/hormones anyone any idea please if it’s ok to eat them?

The other problem is I’m being asked by my Rhuematologist, I have RA & Sjogren’s Syndrome to go back on Hydroxychloroquine, I was taken off this drug a year ago as it has damaged my retina, my fatigue is chronic this is why he has surgested this drug again he is going to discuss treatment with my eye consultant but was wondering if it will effect Levo from working it’s best.........I also take carbocisteine for a lung condition

I was taking carbocisteine with Levo in the morning but now leave it an hour after Levo

Rhuematologist is referring me to endocrinologist again as he feels that my Dr along with himself does not know enough about thyroid conditions. I was referred to endo but he just told my Dr to prescribe Levo at 25mg and did not want to see me.

Rather a lot of questions but hoping someone can help please ?

Hello. I take my levothryoxine as soon as wake up and wait an hour before having coffee which interacts with it. I also have fatigue but what helps is a mixture of nutty proteins with coconut milk with blueberries for breakfast. Included in this mixture of almonds, pecans, walnuts, sunflower seeds, pumpkin sees, flax seeds, coconut oil, cinnamon, raisins and goji berries are 2 T of CHIA seeds. In the mix, that's a small amount. All are bio.

As for endocrinologists, too many have not kept up with how complicated our bodies are, nor did they realised how vital vitamin D is. For me, I think NDT is better than a generic which quite often is not consistent given manufacturing hiccups. I also think nutrition can be a factor and have altered my diet to mostly plant based. You must get the right kind of tests and 'stop the thyroid madness' is a good place to start. From there, I take a whole host of vitamins/minerals including iodine which is also linked to thyroid issues.

I'm afraid I know nothing about chia seeds.

However, I do know that under-treated thyroid conditions will cause fatigue, so before going back onto a drug that has already damaged you, find out if your dose of levo is adequate.

Do you have copies of your blood test results? If so, post them on here, with the ranges, and let's have a look. If not, ask at the surgery for a print-out. You need to know what they're testing and exactly what the results are. It could be that they're not even doing the right tests. :)

Thank you for your reply it’s much appreciated.
