I have just started T3 and felt as if my body had been given something it was craving for a long time. Has anyone else had this feeling?

With the first dose of adding tiny amount of T3 to long-established levothyroxin there was an immediate difference - loosening up stiff and painful hips so I could walk freely...but the effect wore off after few hours. But yes T3 can feel like the beer ...refreshing parts other thyroid meds cannot reach!
That’s a brilliant way to describe it, and exactly how I felt. Interesting what you say about hip pain as I was experiencing terrible joint pain on t4 alone. I felt toxic on t4, as if it was building up in my system. I could not tolerate any drug increases due to pain, rashes, itchy skin, blinding headaches and was still experienced extreme exhaustion, hair coming out etc, etc when my tsh was in the therapeutic parameters. I know it’s early days but I feel so much better on t3, I feel I’m getting my life back.
I began self treating with T3 because my psychiatrist wasn't comfortable prescribing it nor any other thyroid medication for bipolar depression. Started straight away with 24 mcg every morning. The form I take, purchased online, is liquid T3 and each drop is 8 mcg, After three days, noticed, that I was less depressed and I was going to bed, earlier, than I had been before beginning T3, though sleep quality is still poor. What I've now noticed is that by early afternoon, my low mood, anxiety and pessimistic feelings return, so I added another drop around noon or 1 pm. Seemed to help. I have a ways to go regarding consistent improved mood, improved sleep quality, weight loss and return of sexual function All have been in the garbage for years, as I have untreatable bipolar illness. Wish you the best on your T3 journey.
Yes! Within hours of the first dose of T3, I thought "what shall I do next", not the normal "what can I put off"!
The following day the heavy cold overcoat I had been "wearing" on T4 alone slipped and I felt warm for the first time in years. The next day I could think clearly and finish a sentence.
I had suggested to my GP that I could "trial" T3 for a month or so just to see if it would help. He also noticed how much better I was looking. Did not stop the practice cancelling my prescription a couple of years later. I moved to NDT. Hope you continue to feel better.
