i have hypothyroid which is hashimotos and i stoped taking my medication tirosent because i had palpitations and i feel much better than before i was on levothyroxine foe 13 years my doctor said to stop for a month and see the results i will have my tests next week i am also a diabetic on insuline all these medications dont mix together but the doctors dont really care what your symptoms are.

It's not uncommon to temporarily feel better but symptoms will come back as your levels deteriorate. Have you got your last blood results ?

Can you supply more details: what were you last blood tests like after 13 years of levothyroxin; what dose of levothyroxin were you on- and you swopped to same dose of Tirosent? How long were you on Tirosent? Many forum members feel 'odd' when they swop T4 meds. as brands are made-up differently, though Tirosent is designed to have few fillers etc to cause such problems. Is your doctor hoping after a month all synthetic T4 will have left your system, or the 'harmless' extra 3 ingredients of Tirosent too....then what is she doing - full thyroid blood tests? Sorry do you mean you felt much better on Tirosent than levothyroxin ( which brand?), or off both of them?
