I was recently diagnosed hypothyroid, and I've been on 50mcg levo as a starting dose. In the states they make you take the med for three months, THEN pull blood for the level test. I take my levo first thing in the morning on an empty stomach. I know it's better to fast the morning of the test, but do I take my dose or no? Doctors in the U.S. spend about 5 minutes with you at appointments IF THAT. I get basically NO EXTRA info unless I BEG it out of them. ππππππ Thanks.

We always advise taking your Levo after the blood draw. This means that you are testing the normal amount of hormone circulating, rather than the last dose you took. For Levo, best to leave 24 hours from last dose to blood draw, for any thyroid meds containing T3 (NDT or synthetic T3) then it's 12 hours.
Also advised is the very first appointment of the morning for the blood draw as TSH is highest early morning and lowers throughout the day. If looking for an increase in dose, or to avoid a reduction, the higher the TSH the better.
