Hi there whether you are hyper or hypo you need to have your irons tested-ferritin, folate, vitb12, vitd, thats where you start first as these need to be optimol for the thyroid to function properly, alot of people on here also take Selenium as this is important for thyroid function, others who are more experienced will comment soon. Good luck.🌟🌟
Being hyper often really trashes your vitamin Levels, particularly Vit D and B12. It's worth having a proper blood test to find out what your levels are because you may need some quite high loading doses, which are expensive, especially if you take stuff you don't need. Also for something like Vit D it is harmful to overdose, unlike B12 which gets excreted in the urine. SeasideSusie has written lots of very comprehensive and informative posts on the subjest. If your doctor won't test your iron, ferritin, folate, B12 and D levels you can get these done via Blue Horizons - I think thyroiduk members get a discount or there's a cheaper rate on thyroid thursdays.
I buy my vitamins on Amazon - it's probably the least expensive way. B12 is available in 2 forms, cyanocobalamin and methylcobalamin (or something like that). The methyl - stuff is apparently better. You can also get it in a spray form or sublingual tablets, which are often absorbed better by people with thyroid issues.
