Hi Traci , so sorry you are suffering .You will get a lot of support on here. You will also receive great advice backed up by research . So sorry no longer .Honestly these people sorted things out for me . Told me what blood tests to have etc .I found out that my body does not use thyroxine effectively for instance . This was exposed when I had my t3 tested on these lovely peoples advice .So I am now on liothyronine .

I also found out about effective dietary changes . A lady on here suggested i look at auto immune protocols like isabella wentz hashimoto protocol . It has stopped my horrendous headaches . It seems to be stopping sugar that did that.

In short there are many avenues you can explore . And you will find all the pointers you need on here .So good luck and have faith xxx

I haven't had any migraines since I do gluten, soy, dairy free and less sugar.. I once cheated and get headaches / body aches soon after that. Autoimmune usually caused by leaky gut and also low vitamins, you need to check this outside the thyroid panels.

My previous doc only check on my tsh , t4.. And I still have hypo symptoms despite my normal tsh. My functional doc then checked that I was lacking of Vit D, B12, and zinc.. I also found out that I have paracites, toxins and untreated virus.. I feel much better after supplementing but still get some minor symptoms.

I got info from this forum that I should check my ferritin, folate, vit D and b12 as a package.. So will do it later..

Hope you get a good doc and hope you are getting well

Welcome. :)

Do you know if you’re optimally replaced with thyroid hormones?

Are you on levothyroxine? If so, how much?

Do you have any recent blood test results to share?

Have you had vitamin and mineral levels tested, in particular, B12, Vit D and ferritin? Hypothyroid folk are often low in all 3.

Lots of questions, I know - but we often find that hypothyroid patients are simply undermedicated, which is why symptoms persist. You may even find that the headaches are due to under medication.

Thank you for taking the time to respond! I just got a panel to check the items you mentioned. I started on only 12.5 of levothyroxine last April and am now up to 50. I'm due for another increase, I have had lots of body aches and pain in my thyroid so I know my body is on the attack.

Hello traci25td,

Welcome! I hope you find this app as helpful as it is to me. I have learned so much from these wonderful people. To answer your question I use herbs to help with the struggles of everyday life. I am hypothyroid but haven’t been on any replacement medication yet, but along with increasing your B12, ferritin, folate, zinc, magnesium and zinc you can also do lifestyle changes. I do meditation which has helped manage anxiety and stress without pills. Along with this I use lavender essential oil with coconut oil to message myself, it helps me reduce stress as well. Also look into doing exercise, I know it sounds impossible but it’s funny that after forcing myself to exercise I feel better and with a bit more energy! Additionally try using herbal teas such as chamomile, lemon grass, Passion flower and ashwaghanda. Ashwagandha is a herb that helps the body regulate the stress response without side effects, it has been a godsend for me as I go to college full time and having hypothyroidism makes things more difficult. Doing all these things has helped me manage symptoms. This coming from someone who is yet have their hormone replacement! So try these if you’d like and see how it goes.

Best wishes!
