Pheonix51 There is no good multivitamin. They tend to contain not enough of anything to do any good, generally contain the cheapest and least absorbable form of the ingredient, and if it contains iron then nothing else will be absorbed. Test for deficiencies/low levels and supplement what's needed individually.
General supplements recommended for thyroid patients as they support thyroid/adrenals
Vit C - minimum 2000mg daily in divided doses
B Complex
A balanced good mineral complex is also a good idea, containing magnesium, selenium
That's what I meant.a good mineral complex.a high potency mineral complex.
I can only tell you the one I use which is this one biocare.co.uk/mineral-compl...
I'm not sure it's a good idea to have a high potency of anything unless you know you are deficient.
Whichever one you decide on, make sure it doesn't contain iron (nothing else will be absorbed) nor iodine (shouldn't be supplemented unless tested and found to be deficient, nor calcium (again, shouldn't be supplemented unless tested and found to be deficient).
Thankyou for your useful reply. I have to avoid iron because my iron level is high and my ferritin level is high too. I was vitamin d insufficient and low B12. My folate was low too and I am assuming that my vitamin c would be insufficient too. Since I've started takin b complex and b12 vitamin d3, I feel allott better than I have. Thanks wayne
Great cautions. My understanding entirely! I was doing so well... now have to start again following a trauma. Back to basics xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Thank you so much for such great, clear and simplified tips. Yes to selenium for me which used to make me feel sick. Now that I need it that doesn't happen! Aren't our bodies amazing. I'm also trying to detox heavy metals post amalgam removal.
