Hello all,
I'm new to this community, though my thyroid levels have been fluctuating since I was about 19 (i'm now 27!) I was diagnosed with "subclinical hypothyroidism" last year, though previous to that all of my readings came back as being hyperthyroid and many of my symptoms also point to that. I do also have endometriosis and severe PMS, I am very sensitive to hormonal changes.
Anyway, I wondered if any of you with subclinical hypothyroidism experience insomnia? Multiple times per month, usually in the lead up to my period, I get bouts of insomnia where I get surges of adrenaline when I am about to fall to sleep. It feels almost like that "jerk" that you get when you have a falling dream, except I struggle to breath, have increased energy and butterflies in my tummy.
I also experience regular bouts of low blood sugar - I have been tested twice for diabetes and these have come back as negative. It is generally after exercise and at any time of the month. I have currently experienced this for 4 days running now and feel very cloudy and foggy, especially after a night of no sleep also!
Trying to figure out if this should be taken to my endometriosis specialist or my GP. I am booked in to have my bloods taken on Thursday as my thyroid hasn't been checked for a while now.
Thank you in advance,
Rachel
