Hi just joined. Have been diagnosed with auto immune hypothyroidism for approx 5 years, and I'm so sick of feeling sick and tired. So I would love any advice that would help make life better, doctors only advice keep taking the pills 😕 I work part time as a support worker, helping people with learning disabilities live in the community.

A bit about me.
Welcome to the forum, Margaret-Hall.
If you post your most recent thyroid results and ranges (ranges are the figures in brackets after the results) members will advise if you are optimally medicated. If you have any results and ranges for ferritin, vitamin D, B12 and folate post those too.
Autoimmune thyroiditis (Hashimoto's) is usually diagnosed with thyroid peroxidase antibodies are high. There is no cure for Hashimoto's which causes 90% of hypothyroidism. Treatment is for the low thyroid levels it causes. Many people have found that 100% gluten-free diet is helpful in reducing Hashi flares, symptoms and eventually antibodies.
Hi Margaret
Just to say I've seen your post and understand how you feel as so many on here (all of us I guess ) do.
Will post or send pm as soon as I can.
Thinking of you.

Welcome, I cannot offer any sort of technical advice - I barely understand what I am doing myself. I am sure if I was well I would have it all sorted, I was once quite bright and quick thinking.
I just wanted to say that you are not alone with this. Although I still have never met anyone who feels like I do, but there are people on here.
I work at for myself at home, writing/editing and that has been the greatest piece of good fortune as I would simply not be able to reliably go into work. So I take my hat off to you for being tough enough to do what you do.
I can work from bed, the terrace or the sofa (occasionally even my office) - people think I don't do much - but I actually produce more than many well people. But this is only possible by being able to chose the right moment to get busy.
So pat yourself on your back - you are doing well (maybe being too tough). Maybe you can talk to your employer about making life a bit more flexible?
Best wishes
