Hi everyone its my op tomorrow and i am so nervous i have to be there at 11am for an afternoon op

My mum emailed me this morning she is so worried about me and what i have to go through that i am worried about her too its hard not being able to give her a time that it will be happening so she would know roughly when its over

I can eat up to 6 hours before my admission but i am so nervous i have given myself an upset stomach so not sure if i should eat on the day would have to be before 5am

I will be so glad when its all over not that i really want to go but i know its for the best so i just hope it all goes well take care everyone x

I wish you all the best for your op and others who have had similar to you will respond also.

You are worried about your Mum and vice versa. I am sure everything will go smoothly.

Wishing you well & thinking of you cloudwalker.

Good luck, hope all goes well

Hi Cloudwalker

It is understandable you are both worked up as its always stressful having to have an op, but please be reassured that it's not going to be as bad as you think. I had a TT in October 2014 and like you got myself in a tiss (to put it mildly). The build up was worse than the actual op!!! Afterwards there was no pain just a bit of discomfort as you can't lie down properly. I found it remarkably less painful than I'd built it up to be. In fact it hurts more when you stub your toe😆 You'll be so pumped up on painkillers and once the op is over you'll be better than you are right now once on the right thyroid treatment (we don't choose to have the op after all).

I wish you all the best for tomorrow. I know everyone here will be holding your hand x

Cloudwalker, all the best for tomorrow. I had very little pain or discomfort after surgery and needed very little of the pain relief offered.
