My cousin was diabetic for 2 years and wasn't told, he found out by accident.

How can this happen...when you have a blood/urine test if it showes infection/ illness you should be told by your GP/consultant..I can't believe they did not ditect diabetes..what were they doing!!!! I have been down to my surgery today to ask how my urine sample showed a kidney infection and I was not told...my GP just said it wasn't that bad..I wondered how he got the results?when I asked the receptionist for the results she said they did not have them...hummm..she then told me a loda crap on my way out that the results are on the computer but they have to physical go on to another page to obtain them..they did not do this...so my results sat their..and over Xmas I sat in pain running to the loo..but didn't know this because I was recovering from H piylor/ colitis.. was already in pain..my gastro consultant told my the results and thort I had been treated..was surprised when I told him its the first I'm hearing of this!!!! He advised me to see my GP...hope your cousin give them hell when they found out their results

I agree!! my cousin was diagnosed but not told. He did give them hell, all except the receptionist who asked him how he was coping with the diabetes!! He wouldn't have known had she not asked!!

Thats discusting i thort at one point I had type 2 diabetes because of my symptoms..I got all the information I cud and found that if you do not recive treatment for certain diabetes you can go in to a diabetic coma..think its called diabetic ketoacidosis..im also sure if you have diabetes you must check you blood suga levels..so for 2 years your cousin had diabetes and had no treatment..wat a crap GP..thort mine was bad!!!
