Click on the person's username above their post (in your case "thyroidnodules". This will take you to their profile page. At the top is a blue banner, on the right hand side there are two boxes, green one says "follow" and white one says "message". Click on "message". On the page that comes up put something in the "subject" box, eg Natural Thyroid, then type your message in the "message" box underneath. Hope that helps :)

Do you know the username of the person who you are trying to contact? We have nearly 32000 members so I imagine there are several called Irene.

Also I should just point out that natural thyroid is a prescription only medicine in the UK and many countries unless you are meaning the glandulars that don't contain thyroid hormones.

Hi & welcome thyroid nodules to our Thyroid UK support site for sufferers of Thyroid problems.

We usually ask for a little more information so that members can chip in to help, such as:-

*Your last blood tests...

TSH, FT4, FT3 antibodies & vitamins/minerals (to eliminate any deficiencies) with ranges

*Your journey so far:-

for example have you been treated with Levothyroxine/synthroid etc. - it it not hitting the spot? Are you looking for a natural alternative?

thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/treatm...

I'm just wondering what's your specific question & trying to help....

I had RAI nearly four years ago as I had a large swelling on the left side of my neck which turned out to be a very large nodule on my thyroid which led to me being Hyperthroid. I was not treated for a year due to bad communication between doctors and hospital which resulted in me now having a heart murmur.

The nodule shrunk after the RAI but after initially feeling better over the last few years have felt slowly worse with fatigue, low energy depression, sinus problems, weak nails, days off work etc and most importantly I have gained 22lb in weight which i cannot shift. Regular blood test showed that I was borderline (according to my doctor). My bloods have been about TSH 3.5, T3 3.00 and T4 11. That is the only readings they gave me. However, after complaining to my doctor that I should have a better quality of life and was fed up with them saying I was borderline when obviously TSH 3.5 was maybe high for me as previous to becoming hyperthyroid I was very fit and healthy. He therefore did a further blood test which showed my TSH was now up to 4.5 and has given me a prescription for Levothyroxine (100) which I have to take for two months and then have a follow up blood test.

However, just before I had the recent blood test, and as I was getting absolutely nowhere with my GP and hospital consultant I attended Napiers herbalist to see if they could help. They made up a tincture for me to take twice a day, gave me super organic kelp tablets and told me to take Vit B complex, zinc, sellenium, magnesium, Vit D3 and a probiotic. This was seven weeks ago and I am slowly feeling a lot better. However, I have spent over £100 on a consultation and the tincture they made up. It is nearly time for me to get another blood test so it will be interesting to see what the readings are with the herbal stuff. The only disappointment I have with it is I have not lost any weight.

I have read a lot about levothyroxine and it seems to only help some people. I have heard good results about natural thyroid and so I wanted to know where to get it in case the levothyroxine does not suit me.

I misunderstood your post. I thought you wanted to send someone called Irene a private message about where to obtain natural thyroid. I didn't realise it was your first post, I guess it's you who is Irene and you put your name as your subject heading.

Check your private messages, I have sent you one. You can find your messages by going to the green bar above where it says Health Unlocked then click on your user name, from the drop down list the third one down is Messages, click on that.

Not what you're looking for?
