Weebella, TSH stimulates the thyroid gland to produce T4 which is a pro-hormone and is converted to T3 in the thyroid, liver and other major organs. Total T4 and total T3 measure the T4 bound to proteins in the blood, it's no longer used much in the UK. Free T4 and Free T3 measure the unbound T4 and T3 available for use in the cells.

Good levels of ferritin aid absorption of thyroid meds and good levels of vitD aid conversion of T4 to T3.

When FT3 is low it can be improved by increasing Levothyroxine (T4) dose or adding Liothyronine (T3) to Levothyroxine.
