I only had a slight sore throat the very next day first time I took the rai but that went quite quickly.

I had to have a second dose six months later as the first didn't work so mightbe why it didn't affect me.

But saying that i don't remember any side affects of the second dose. I only remember the sore throat the first time as work used that as an excuse of me to be "off sick" as a colleague was pregnant at the time (and early so not announced) so they requested I stayed off work for the two weeks because she'd expressed concern. Second dose I was working normally the whole two weeks.

I've had RAI once as a treatment dose, and 3 times in a scanning dose. One of those scans left me with extreme pain. I can't remember many details about it, but I remember that the pain was preventing me from sleeping, and I did some crying, it went on for a long time, so probably several weeks.

I don't think there's anything unusual about that. Part of your body is being burned away. I was offered aspirin gargles, and I drank iced water all day.
