Hi, for a long time, I took 50mcg almus or actavis or mercury, and 25mcg wookhardt. I am told that they are all the same. I then started to ask for the same brand when I got the prescription. Only certain brands to the 25mcg tablets. Actavis don't make 25's. I am supposed to be taking 75mcg, though am getting 100mcg on prescription and am being given all mercury ones at mo.

Rollrider, I believe Almus is manufactured by Actavis. You can ask your pharmacist to supply Wockhardt 25mcg instead of Mercury Pharma. Wockhardt has less fillers than Actavis and MP. Alternatively, ask to be dispensed Almus/Actavis 50mcg which you can cut with a pillcutter to 25mcg. If your pharmacist won't do this ask your GP to specify Almus/Actavis only on your prescription.

You can report adverse reactions to medicines via yellowcard.mhra.gov.uk/

I've had the same issues. I've now brought myself a pill cutter and I'm just getting the alumus 50mcg. I discussed this with my doctor today and he was happy to oblige my request to change the perscription to just this size pill.
