Welcome to the forum, Sallyclocky.

If you post your recent thyroid blood results with the lab ref ranges (the figures in brackets after what your results) and say how long you have been taking Levothyroxine members will advise whether you are optimally medicated.

Hairloss/thinning is a hypothyroid symptom but can also be a side effect of Levothyroxine. Low iron and zinc levels are particularly associated with hair loss. Biotin and evening primrose oil are said to be helpful but it can take up to a year to notice good results.

Many Hashi and hypothyroid members find that gluten-free diet helps reduce bloating, gas and constipation and reduces Hashi antibodies and flare ups. Try it for 3 months. If it helps stick with it. If it doesn't help reintroduce gluten slowly.

Ask your GP to test zinc, ferritin, vitamin D, B12 and folate as hypothyroid patients are often deficient/low and these deficiencies can cause musculoskeletal pain, fatigue and low mood similar to hypothyroid symptoms. Post your results with the lab ref ranges and members will advise whether supplementation is required.

Sally, the Data Protection Act entitles patients to see their test results but you have to request them. Ask your GP receptionist or practice manager. Your surgery is entitled to charge a nominal £1/£2 to cover paper and printer ink costs but shouldn't use it as a revenue stream.

Is there an app so I can get notification

Do you mean notifications of responses here?

If so, go to your Account:

healthunlocked.com/settings

And choose which things you wish to be notified about.

Also note, if you reply using the orange "Reply" box immediately after someone's response, they will (usually) get a notification. Your response here would only have notified you!
