Just home after having my appendix removed. Wondering if having hypothyroidism will make recovery any different.

Hello MrsMoon and wishing you a speedy recovery.
I don't know about any specific symptoms or anything but I had foot surgery 2 years ago and DREADED being inactive with already putting on weight, low metabolism, fatigued, lack of energy etc... so that bothered me more than anything else.
The Hypo certainly didn't get worse but I was not in the best position to recover. I have only just back to exercise (temporary break at the moment) but that was due to the screws and staples put in my foot making me even more restricted than before!
So keep it all up and stay positive, allow yourself recovery time
Regards.

If you are adequately medicated, Mrs Moon, I think you should have a normal recovery and certainly hope that you do.
I always thought healing could be a problem if hypo but I had a hip replacement with an 11 inch incision and apart from a PE everything else was fine.
