Clmartin, I don't know about monthly cycle but the time of testing affects results. TSH follows circadian rhythms and is highest early in the morning and lowest from 13.00 through to evening. Taking thyroid medication less than an hour before food/drink and less than 2 hours after will affect absorption and test results and there may be interactions with medicines affecting results. Antibiotics can signficantly increase and decrease absorption.

Out of interest, does this mean that you should get a blood test i. The morning? Im due mine and could only get it for 17:40

Hellybaybee, TSH is highest early in the morning and lowest late afternoon/evening. People looking for a diagnosis or dose increase are advised to have early morning and fasting tests (water only) when TSH is highest.
