Hi claira,

You didnt finish your post :) I too suffer from dizzyness or vertigo and it was evil and ruined my life for about 2 years. I am not near my blood test results at the mo so cant really comment on the cortisol for you. But what were his last thyroid test results and maybe do a saliva adrenal test which is a better test than a one off blood test.

There are a few things that got me better and a lot less dizzy that I could carry on with life. First of all being on the thyroid medication at a good dose. 50 mcg of Levo is low and normally a starting dose (so thyroid results would be great here to help in that respect). How is his blood pressure? Also do a blood pressure test from lying down to standing to see the difference (sorry, Im away from my med info at the moment). You can get a bp machine for £20 in Lloyds pharmacy.

Also aerobics. Aerobics saved me. I decided one day I had enough and the docs were doing nothing. I had become so scared I didnt leave the house. I decided to get my balance back and when I got up in the morning the first thing I would do is an aerobics video. It killed me but slowly I got better until I felt brave enough to go back to school and study and I havent looked back since. So write back and we'll go over it together. Take care xxxx

do you mean hyper or hypothyroidism. I thought levo treatment was for hypothyroidism. Ozthyroid

Levothyroxine is used both in hypothyroidism and, as part of "block and replace", in hyperthyroidism. In block and replace, they use a medicine, usually carbimazole, to suppress the thyroid then provide the needed thyroid hormone by tablets of levothyroxine.

If you click on astroscopesuk's name you can got to their profile and read what is there and/or other posts they have made to see what they have said.

Hi Claira, you need to find out the lab's range. Here in my area the range is 150-700 so it would be considered normal. Although... my GP won't do 9am cortisol tests he said they are a waste of time as it tells him nothing in most cases. Re: dizzyness, it is a symptom of hypothyoidism.
