Hello, I am 7 days post right thyroid lobectomy, 3 days ago I developed a dry thickly cough, can anyone tell me if this is normal? Thanks

I think it's normal. You will have had a tube down your throat and this will have irritated it and your body is expelling general anaesthetic.

Drinking plenty of fluids will help flush your system. I find a couple of spoonfuls of honey, slice of lemon in hot water soothing when I have a tickly cough. I drink one hot before bed (makes me sweat a bit) and leave another to sip during the night if bothered by tickly cough.
