Greetings everyone, I hv hypothyroidism & I'll be requesting a lab soon to find out what I'm deficient in, what shld I ask they check for?

Have you had anything checked at all apart from your TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone) test, if not then you will need to get your anti bodies tested to checked if you have an auto immune thyroid illness called Hashimotos. Although your treatment is the same whether you have Hash's or not having an auto immune illness can also effect other things in your body, like your gut. Also ask for your FT4 & FT3 to be tested.

You will also need to get your vitD, Iron, Ferritin (iron stored in your body), B12 and folates checked as these vitamins are very important for your thyroid medication. Please get in the habit of asking for print out of ALL tests you have done (bloods of otherwise) so that, firstly you can keep a check on your own health and secondly, so that you can post results on here for help and advice.
