the gauze is stuck. How should I remove it?
Had operation to remove left side thyroid on We... - Thyroid UK
Had operation to remove left side thyroid on Wednesday, due to a 5cm + lump on it. Had drain removed yesterday before I came home and now
I would phone your GP or speak to one of the nurses and ask their advice.
How do you feel? I am scheduled to have half of my thyroid removed in Jan date to be determined. It all seems a bit surreal at the moment.
Hi Chickens12, thanks for answering. I rang my gp's surgery, and spoke to the nurse. She suggests a) get hubby to try and remove it as he can see what he is doing properly, b) wait till I have a shower on Sunday, or c)go see the nurse on Monday if all else fails. I have no dressings here if it starts bleeding. I feel okay, a bit tender and a little shaky. And I think my hearing has gone weird,, my tv sounds dalek like!
Hello, in my opinion I woul leave in place until your shower on sunday purely to allow the area to begin its natural healing. It would need a good soak to prevent pulling any tissue,
Hi Pottyrai,, I will prob leave it till Sunday,. Can't wait for my shower!!
