Hi What treatment are you on?What are your recent tests, tSH, T4 and Free T3?Do you see an Endo?if so over weight with hyper rather than hypo, it may be that you are having too much meds., thereby making you hypo.

Best wishes,

Jackie

Hi. If you are hyperthyroid I presume your dr/endo dx you. Therefore I presume you were given a prescription of carbimazole firstly to control your output of thyroid hormone. If you are still taking carbimazole as a means of controlling your hormone output, It would appear that you need to have your prescription revised if you are still producing too much hormone. Or, did your Dr/ Endo introduce you to taking T4 meds once the carbimazole had completely shut down your own hormone production. In which case, you are probably taking too much t4. Perhaps you could send in some more details/test results/history before being able to help further.

Best wishes

If you are indeed hyper at the moment then you should be on meds such as carbimazole. If you are and the dose is right then the weight issues will slowly resolve. If the meds are not effective then it may be that you need surgery or RAI instead.

The simple answer is see an endo and take your meds but obviously we do not know your circumstances. Please update with more info to see if we can help.
