Six weeks is too early as it takes a while to get to an optimum medication which makes you feel better. Your meds should be increased about every six weeks initially till you feel better and not when the doctor pronounces you 'normal' while still having symptoms.

You are entitled to a print-out of your blood test results - just ask he receptionist for a print-out, with the ranges as labs differ and it makes it easier to comment. We are entitled to copies of our blood tests, they cannot refuse.

We have to read and learn as much as possible unless, of course, you are one of the lucky ones for whom levothyroxine works when you get to an optimum level. I hope you are.

hi blade400 just to ask are your bloods within your nhs doctors ranges or your own findings the only reason i ask is from what iv discoverd the nhs thyroid ranges are so wide they are leaving lot of people unwell and undermedicated i struggled to get diagnosed because of the wide scale of them

hi there thyr0id its gonna take some patience im afraid and everyone is different your doctor should give figures ! i know its a frustrating illness to have im in the same boat and have now been on levothyroxine for 12 weeks compared to how ill i was at those 12 weeks ago my levles were quite low as was having trouble getting diagnosed i have improved a lot when i look back but t has been a rough ride and still is, i was really struggling getting through the day with simple things and horrible symptoms and i back to doing a most of household chores slowly but least doing them but its baby steps in my case my levels are slowly rising and i have a way to go and realize its going to take time and iv now accepted that , everybody is different it seems, a lovely lady i met on here she has been poorly with hypothyrodism for a while and felt great after 7 weeks of taking levothyroxine she was on a higher dose for most of that time she thought she would never get better in the beginning of starting treatment she is over the moon how much better she feels very chuffed for her!i would maybe suggest reading up on the condition and learning about it since you now know you have hypothyroidsm from a decent book like mr toft understanding thyroid disorders also mentally preparing yourself that it could take some time to get better can help the stress levels hope this helps a bit i hope you feel better soon also make sure you are getting the right vitimans and minerals to support the medication and your body

Your doctor darned well WILL give you your results.

Might try to refuse or play difficult. Or try to charge when not allowed. But at the end of the line, you have the trump card of legal right. If you want the numbers enough, you will get them.
