Just been diagnosed with Hyperthyroidism started on Carb 20mgs, but I am always in back pain is this a symptom?

Ah well it depends where the back pain is really. Studies have shown that hyperthyroidism can be linked to problems within the c3 c4 vertebrae. This affected me causing me pain in my right shoulder and neck. Since going into remission I no longer have it. I had physio which helped enormously.
It is not caused by the meds..
Carbimazole gives me horrific joint paints on any dose 20mg or above. Joint pain is one of the recognized side effects of CBZ (have a look at you patient info leaflet). So, depending on whether or not your pain pre-dated starting CBZ and where it is (joint vs muscular) then it could be a side effect of CBZ
