That is very difficult to answer.

There are two likely tests.

TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone) which would have a typical reference range of something like 0.4 to 4.2. If it is HIGH then you would by HYPOthyroid.

FT4 (free T4) which would have a typical reference range of something like 10 to 22. If it is HIGH then you would be HYPERthyroid.

If it is one of those tests and the result is 97, something is very wrong. That is way out of range and if you feel pretty bad, that would not be a surprise.

I have only recently had my blood tested and My Doctor said I should be in the range of around 9 but my results showed 97. He gave me medication 50mg of Levothyroxine and after two weeks my level was 89. I have had my medication increased to 100mg and have to be tested again in two weeks time.I will ask my Doctor what exactly the test is. Yes I feel ghastly and have no energy at all.

Thanks for your reply.

i have graves, very hard to give 100% answer to your question but i presume the 97 could be the amount of t4 in your system i had a level of >100 when i was diagnosed with graves (they can only measure up to 100) hope that helps
