Changing Levothyroxine brands?

Hi, I am due to ring my Dr for my TSH test result tomorrow and she will refer me to an endo when they come back 'normal', which they will :)

My Levo brand is Actavis ( 50mcg).

Is it worth asking for different brand in the meantime, and if so, which one?Confused about the differences in the brands....help appreciated as always!

You don't need to ask your GP to change your brand of levo (unless you want to try Eltroxin by Mercury Phama - which is in short supply at the moment) you need to ask your pharmacist. They usually hold several different brands and I have asked my pharmacist on several occasions to change my brand for me. You may have to change several times until you find the right one but need to give each brand at least 6 weeks to see if the brand change has made any difference as it would do you no good to change brands every couple of weeks.

No need to change several times. Only one change is ever required to have tried them all. :-)

There are only two different 50 microgram levothyroxine tablets on the UK market, as I understand.
