Some are low FODMAP apparently but anyone else find they give you gas, even the so called safe ones ?

Unfortunately, IBS is not just about FODMAPs. I can't tolerate some low FODMAP foods. Food intolerances are a very personal thing.

I like cashews. Not a low FODMAP but oh my, once had a few too many and the stomach cramps afterwards. 😬

Everything is quantity dependent for me too. I have to weigh/measure a lot of my foods - just a bit over and I am in trouble.

Not more gas, no. But sometimes if I eat nuts they make me "go" a bit more the next morning (i.e. act a bit like a mild laxative, which I don't need, with IBS D.)

But I have found that 100% natural smooth peanut butter with no additives at all, suits my gut, and I have about a dessertspoonful with my breakfast each morning.

Also I have found that walnuts seem fairly friendly, and a small amount (4 or so) Brazil nuts. I eat those raw.

I can be okay with roasted almonds, but blanch them to get the skins off first before roasting.

I can never eat too many nuts at once though.
