I've often taken Movicol when constipated but it has started giving me leakage after the "main event". Does this happen to anyone else - also get sore rear end!

I've taken Movicol 3 times to combat the constipation from whichever meds are causing it. First time I cautiously took half the dose = good result; second time, same dose = no result at all; third time, took the whole dose = too much! And leakage. And a sore bum. It's worth a gentle experiment .

I have to take a sachet every night. Have done for years and it’s very unpredictable. Lots of churning and bloating. It’s not great but for me it’s the best of a bad lot!

Either little and often, or gradually build up to a whole sachet-lurching from one extreme to the other is not helping you develop proper habits. When I had to have a colonoscopy, the first time I had a sore rear end, so the second time(!) I used plenty of zinc and castor oil ointment, and was fine. I also keep a lip salve handy to use-yes-really-to use to help prevent the soreness. It works-label it carefully though!!
