I’ve done a bit of research on this for you and it would seem that whilst Calprotectin is an indicator of inflammation, it doesn’t indicate the cause or location. Since you indicate that you have BAM, and that is associated with inflammation, it is likely that your doctors have taken the view that the raised levels are due to that (though they have reduced). As your earlier messages show that you are on Colesevelam for the BAM, then there may be limited alternatives, but you might ask your GP if you can alter the dose.
Hope that helps clarify things a bit.
From this link it looks like normal range is less than 100:

It seems your markers were elevated initially. Often they re-run the test, which is what happened to you and it seems your next one is in normal range.
Calprotectin is used as a marker as to whether someone needs to be referred for further investigation via a colonoscopy - this is to check for things like Chron's, Colitis, which are inflammatory bowel diseases and Cancer. Even after colonoscopy someone can still have IBS, in fact this is more likely.
The fact that your marker is 70 means that they don't need to refer you. I don't think this marker and your BAM are linked. This is my understanding anyway, but I'm not a doctor.
With IBS like symptoms and low inflammation markers, an IBS diagnosis is often made. However, in your case it could simply be BAM, if you have already tested positive for this.
