I have a family member that has been suffering with IBS for 2 years and the symptoms are getting worse. We have explored dieticians, doctors, consultants with no success as all results lead to IBS/slow transit. Could anyone recommend a clinic or specialist that would be able to help tackle this awful condition. We are based in the midlands. Thank you very much, as we have exhausted our options with the NHS and dieticians.

IBS Clinic Suggestions please....
Has their gastroenterologist recommended linaclotide or other newers drugs for IBS-C? Have they tried Magnesium Oxide at bed time to soften stools or any other forms of laxatives or bulking agents - see here: theibsnetwork.org/constipat...? When you have slow transit stools stay in the bowel for longer which means too much water gets drawn out of them and make them difficult to pass. They could join theibsnetwork.org/ - there is access to experts in the field of IBS and they can pose them questions. I would be wary of some 'clinics' or therapists that operate outside of the NHS and may not be regulated. I made this mistake myself and wasted loads of money and got no further forward. Once armed with more information, I would continue to go back to the GP and say that the management of the condition hasn't been satisfactory.
Do you lose mucus or anything
