Stitch pain on left under ribs.

Hi everybody. I'm 70 years of age. Normally in good health but have had Scoliosis since age 14. My spine was operated on at 14yrs but is still curved and as I've got older and 'shrunk' it has left me with a very short torso which compromises my organs. I've had this pain under left side ribs for quite a while and its not always there. Never bothers me when I'm in bed but when I get up I have to sit on side of bed and hold under my ribs for a few seconds. I believe it is my Spleen that gets air trapped round it. It soon gets better when I'm up and walking about but does catch me unawares if I move a bit quick and twist slightly. If you understand what I'm saying my organs haven't got the same room as a normal person. I am waiting to get an appointment with Doctor to check this but there is a shortage of Docs and Nurses at my surgery. Hope this helps. An afterthought is I also have IBS.

It's difficult to say whether it's to do with you being bent because of your curved spine and that you have a short torso or whether it is the IBS. Hopefully the doctor will be able to determine why you have this pain.

Very best of luck.
